NAVKRATIS was asked by a Technical Superintendent to deliver an integrated “turn-key” solution for the installation of an additional heater to the fuel oil system for the Auxiliaries Engines on board to one of his vessels.
The process:
After collecting all necessary data from the vessel, the Technical Superintendent in collaboration with NAVKRATIS, drafted heater’s technical specifications and requested from the factory plant to make necessary study calculations for the development of one electric heater for Heavy Fuel Oil preheating which should hold Class Certificate.
The heater that was designed and finally produced, it was a two stage marine heater 27kw both with auto and manual options, complete with electrical panel. Additionally from the heater’s construction, Navkratis undertook the supply of several valves and tee pipe connections that were needed for heater’s installation. All materials were delivered to the client accompanied by appropriate Certificates as per Class’ requirements for marine Heavy Fuel Oil system. The heater – along with all the ancillaries – was shipped by sea freight from Greece to USA and the installation was successfully carried out by ship’s crew.
